Acrylic paints and Mixed media on Water Color paper
Unlike many other people I wanted to start my new year painting. So 31st of December evening I sat to paint on this watercolor paper and alongside started recording my painting process too with my camera. Due to Husband's friends @ home for the new year eve there were some breaks between the process of painting it ,but most of the time it took away all my attention and time while my husband entertained his friends.
I was painting over it till d clock struck 12 @ midnight and we all cheered HAPPY NEW YEARRR 2011. Things were exactly the way I wanted them to be i.e I ended the 2010 working on my painting and started the 2011 working 2 :) .... That was a great feeling. Because thats how I want my year to pass - WORKING. I actually feel that I breathe my paintings. My smile is lost somewhere if I dont paint. Have many many goals for the new year 2011 and many plans and resolutions and some obstacles too. But I have to be focussed and strong to get there.... WISH ME LUCK PLZ :) I NEED IT....
Now enough about me, lets get to the painting now. Being a youtuber I wanted to make a special Happy New Year video for my youtube viewers and friends. So I decided what better then a Lord Krishna painting ( god I believe in ) . I had already done the drawing a few days ago and was just planning on the colors etc in my head all the days after that. ( But believe me in painting, you can never ever plan anything, things just happen and you just have to enjoy the surprises it brings, when you have fun with it, it shows up right there ) 1 thing I was sure of was that I had to do a mixed media work as I am in love with mixed media ever since i have started Art Journaling i.e since a year now. And of coarse the whole process you can catch up on the videohere . After the process that uve seen the only things I can say that working on watercolor textured paper is always fun and even tough I make many many paintings experimenting with the mixed media is always a bit of intimidating for me. In such a situation when things get a bit scary and you get reluctant on wheather to apply this paint or texture etc or not, just ask your brain to SHUT UP AND STOP THINKING. Just go with the flow and do whatever you feel like, like a child. I can guarantee you that because you will enjoy the process the end result is going to be fantastic.:) TRY IT ....
Thank you for for reading this and for enjoying my works, dont forget to comment below and let me know your thoughts too....
Love and Hugs to all
