Walking by the green lush gardens of Leeds, I so enjoy the small plantations of beautiful and colourful flowers that really seem to attract me a lot with their pure bright and fresh colors. This is what I ended up trying to capture on this piece of canvas :)

The tornado series is inspired by the energy and the unbelievable strength provided by the nature to these Tornado winds, which carry the whole surroundings with them when they form, making everything scary and invisible. As I have stated in my Artist's statement, my abstracts are images stored in my subconscious mind which just take a shape while I am playing with my colors and canvas. It was the same with this series too. When I was a little girl, I really loved a corner of my school. I used to love to sit on the staircase and just look at that corner for hours because that corner created a really strong wind which would go round and round and carry everything with it. No other place in my school got such kind of a strange wind. I used to be really fascinated by its strength, style of movement, power and ability to pick up everything with it and go round and round. Then I cleared school, completed college and forgot about it all. But my unconscious mind still stored those images which just naturally came out while I was working on these large canvasses. While painting these abstracts, I felt as if some super natural powers like god was behind me, making me do this. I was just a medium between god and theses abstracts and became the creator.

Description :- One of my favorite works again depicts how precious and happy freedom is through a bird, bright happy colors of the sky, dancing lake and a beautiful rainbow. If the freedom can be so beautiful and happy, then why do we need to capture these innocent birds in the cages and snatch away their freedom forever? A bright work depicting the HAPPINESS OF FREEDOM.

Description :- My colorful depiction of a dry branch with sky in vivid colors and bright red flowers with acrylic paints and gesso on canvas. The dry branch with bright red flowers signify HOPE. Here the dry branch signifies a life with hardships and struggles and the bright red flowers represent that no matter how difficult the life is, it still has a beautiful, bright, pure and happy side to it. its our choice , which side we choose to see - The dry side or the happy side. Our life will be exactly the way we choose to look @ it. And the bright and colorful sky represents the beautiful world which is surrounded around us

MY ARTIST'S STATEMENT

My style of work is primarily figurative and abstract. I work with acrylic paints and mixed media on canvas and my color scheme is by and large pure, bright and bold. My figurative paintings most often start with a basic portrait or a figure drawing , on which I experiment with various colors and textures to capture its air and emotions in my own unique fashion. My abstracts are a sequence of reactions i.e the way my brain reacts to a particular wash or a mark on canvas to get the next layer and then the next until I reach the ultimate piece of art work.The conclusive work most often turns out to be an image stored in my subconscious mind waiting to be released on the canvas and becomes the subject of my abstracts. I absolutely adore pure and bright colors and love to challenge god's natural chroma and patterns with my own.

Description :- Leaving home after getting married was easy for me initially, but the missing part of it after words was really difficult. So while living in U.K for so long, I was missing my home and decided to paint a faint picture of it through my abstract. So closing my eyes I captured the 1st images that came to my mind - The main gate, The electric wires outside the house with the birds on them and some people walking by, and some faint colors.Colors used are bright and pure which are by and large my signature by now.
